Being a financial adviser has always been challenging, but in early 2021, new regulation and licensing changes introduced extra cost and risk into the equation. Many advisers began to worry about whether they were adequately equipped to deal with the changes and how they could ensure that they were operating in a compliant manner.
What advisers needed was a straightforward solution to help them run stronger, more compliant advice businesses. However, the partnership advisers had with their aggregator, a relationship that could provide them with support through these kinds of challenges, has traditionally not offered meaningful value, leaving advisers unhappy but unsure whether anything better was out there.
Chuck Slogrove and Ben Krebs, business partners who had already worked together in the advice and financial technology industries, decided that they needed to step up and provide what the industry needed. With a combined ten years of industry experience, including the development and running of Trail, a software CRM and workflow solution popular with financial advisers, they knew that they were well-positioned to offer advisers a dynamic approach to aggregation and compliance.
In 2020, the Kiwi Adviser Network was born, offered as a next generation solution to help empower advisers to grow their business. KAN’s vision is to elevate the standard of advice in New Zealand to become the gold standard for adviser support services. KAN is passionate about creating mutual partnerships with advisers that provide real value and support.
Chief Executive Officer
Chuck Slogrove understands financial advisers, having previously successfully exited from his own financial advice business. He is a graduate in Finance from the University of Auckland. He is responsible for the direction of the business.
Chief Technology Officer
Ben is in charge of KAN’s product and systems. He is responsible for ensuring the technology used by KAN advisers is secure, robust, and reliable. He has experience working at a Microsoft Partner company, and has an engineering degree from The University of Auckland.
Head of Compliance
Leigh heads up the compliance team at KAN. Along with her passion for compliance and professional standards, she brings a wealth of industry experience drawn from time as a financial planner and working for the regulator. She's an avid music fan and has an impressive vinyl collection.
Wael keep us ahead of the curve when it comes to changing industry regulations in the industry. An expert in compliance, Wael manages business & adviser monitoring, audit, and remediation for members of KAN.
Business Development Manager
Warwick assesses whether KAN is the right fit for prospective users. He looks to understand the intricacies of each individual business and show them the value KAN can bring. He is also in charge of organising office birthday parties.09 600 1600
Head of Operations
Madison is in charge of lender accreditations, commission management, and general queries. She has a background in HR, accounting, account management and demonstrating IT software. Madison is also responsible for the well-being of all the office plants.
Phoebe is in charge of KAN’s brand and marketing material. She makes sure that the right people hear about the incredible offering and that all of the content produced sounds great. In her spare time she is also a published poet.
